Sail into Venice on a Galleon!

Imagine sailing into Venice on a galleon, as in days of yore.
You may have to arrive in the first instance by train or car but soon after you could be seeing Venice like the ancient Venetians would have-from the deck of your very own boat!
Of course, you will want to build in time to visit museums and palaces, wander along canal-side streets, through piazzas and across bridges but imagine if you could also see Venice from the Lagoon, and visit some of the outlying islands.
One company offers a Venetian Galleon experience, complete with a catering service providing local meals. The Galleon is designed to look like the Venetian ships from between 1600 and 1800 and is suitable for larger groups. You can even add a DJ to the proceedings, making it suitable for celebrating stag weekends, weddings or more. The choice is only limited by your imagination. The Galleon is more suitable for exploring the Adriatic coast than the Lagoon but of course you can build Venice into the end or beginning of your trip.
If you want something smaller, perhaps to visit the lagoon islands, then you can also hire a sailboat complete with hostess and licensed Skipper. Information about Venice will be given during your cruise and breakfast and lunch will be on board with dinner in a local restaurant.
